Who we are

What we collect

• The rego and state, or VIN, you search
• Your email address
• Payment details, handled by Stripe. We don't see or store card numbers
• Your IP address and browser details, to prevent abuse and fraud
• A session cookie that keeps your order together while you check out

Why we collect it

To run your check, deliver your report and tax invoice, prevent abuse and fraud, and help you if something goes wrong.

Who we share it with

Only the services that make the check work: our order processing and hosting systems, the PPSR (the VIN searched), a vehicle data provider (the rego and state, or VIN), Stripe (payments), our email provider (delivery) and Google reCAPTCHA (bot protection).

Marketing

None. We only email you about your order.

How long we keep it

We keep orders, reports and certificates so you can return to your report, and for tax records.

Security

The site uses encrypted connections. Report links are private to the person who has them. We don't store card numbers.

Details in your report

A report shows lender names and details from the register, which can include individuals. Use them only to sort out the purchase of the car.

Access, correction and complaints

Email us to ask for the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to make a complaint. If you're not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
